About Me
I was a CrossFit gal living in New New York City.
To be honest, I hated working out and eating healthy. But then I found CrossFit, a core strength and conditioning program. Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. In fact, I ended up getting excited at the idea of battling Fran, Nancy, Cindy et al., on a daily basis. The problem for me was that many CrossFitters follow a Paleo diet which encourages you to eat the way cavemen did: lean meats, seafood, vegetables, fruits, nuts and berries in order to maximize your physical performance. No grains, no pasta, no processed foods! Suffice to say that my diet was not that simple given I live in New York City – arguably the best culinary city in the world.
The genesis of this blog came during a Paleo food challenge initiated from CrossFit LIC. For seven weeks, I had to cut out processed foods/sugars and legumes. For the foodie in me, I found it incredibly difficult (if not insane). In fact – I think I had a real meltdown (kicking and screaming might have been included) when I found out legumes are not paleo, peanuts are not really nuts, and that corn is not a vegetable (oh grains – how I miss you). But my mistake was thinking that paleo food had to be boring and tasteless. This site is my way of sharing thoughts and ideas for other ‘foodies’ who struggle with maintaining a primal lifestyle while providing delicious recipes with no processed ingredients or added sugars.
My husband and I recently moved to California and that has helped me learn more about food sources and pratices. I am still learning a lot about helpful nutritional concepts and the foods we eat today. So please share your thoughts and ideas because this is an educational process for me. But in the meantime, I’ll focus on making really tasty food using all natural and quality ingredients that even non-Paleo diners will want to eat!
Happy Eating!

Hey, Great Website…..I can’t wait to try a few of these out!!! I have been trying to go paleo for about a month now. I would say I do great 90% of the time……damn bread kills me. I am saving this to my favorites and sharing it with my fellow crossfitters down here in Philly!!
Thanks Anthony! Paleo is great but I agree – it’s hard when you miss the texture of bread and grains. I’ll try to come up with more recipes for you to try out!

Love your website! It’s cool to find a fellow Asian sistah foodie doing the paleo thing! I’m gonna try your pork and shrimp lettuce cup recipe really soon!
I had no idea you were such a Paleo pro! Thanks for the awesome recipes 🙂
Your site is awesome! Having a variety of Asian recipes that are also Paleo (because honestly, how often can I do stir-frys without it getting uber boring?) is so helpful, especially when we’re Asians who miss eating the traditional comfort foods from time to time. Thanks for sharing! 😀
I am interested in buying the Shurky jurky. Can you please let me know how or where to get it. I love your website and am excited to try so many of the recipes you created.
